Yeovil Town earned an FA Cup replay with a last-gasp goal against Leatherhead. Johl Powell scored late to secure a draw after his team had lost a two-goal advantage during a frantic period, a result that mirrors their last meeting which also ended 3-3 on Saturday 17 October. The club, currently 4th in the National League with 25 points from 13 games, has shown impressive resilience.

Manager Billy Rowley selected the same players who began the previous match. His team began well but could not score before halftime. The match changed after the interval, with Yeovil scoring soon after the restart. Another goal followed not long after, putting the National League club in a strong position.

Leatherhead's stunning fightback

Leatherhead produced a remarkable recovery, netting three goals in a short span to take the lead. The leveling goal came when the Leatherhead keeper pushed out a shot, and Powell reached the loose ball first to score, prompting big celebrations.

Rowley made four substitutions around the middle of the second half, bringing on new players. The substitutions gave Yeovil renewed energy as they pushed for a result. A Leatherhead defender prevented a late chance to ensure the draw stood.

The outcome means a replay at Yeovil's stadium will settle the match. This extends Yeovil's involvement in the FA Cup as part of a positive run of form, which includes three wins and two draws in their last five league games, leaving them unbeaten in that sequence. Their recent results include a 6-0 win over Boston United and a 6-0 victory at Wealdstone, where Powell scored twice. In the league, they have scored 32 goals and conceded 15, giving them a strong goal difference of plus 17, though they remain 10 points behind the leaders Boreham Wood. The victor of the replay will move into the next stage of the competition, after which Yeovil will turn their focus to a key league fixture at home against Altrincham, who are 6th, on Saturday 24 October.

Manager Billy Rowley admitted defensive errors cost his side dearly as they surrendered a two-goal lead against Leatherhead. Archie Davies and Brett McGavin scored to put Yeovil in control, but Louis Paget and a Mark Waters double put the hosts ahead before Johl Powell's late equaliser. Rowley said, "It’s defensive mishaps. We were in complete control." The club, currently 4th in the National League, will host the replay at Huish Park on Tuesday night.
