Yeovil Town owners Prabhu Srinivasan and Bhavna Vohra hosted a free 'Meet the Owners' evening for supporters at the Alec Stock Lounge this week. The event offered fans a chance to ask questions directly about the club's future before the owners' return to Dubai on Tuesday, with the team currently sitting 5th in the National League on 28 points from 16 games, comprising eight wins, four draws and four losses.
Tickets for the session were free but required advance booking due to the lounge's limited capacity. The bar was open from 7pm for a short Q&A where supporters could engage with the leadership. The club encouraged early booking to secure a place.
Financial strategy and Huish Park future
A central topic was the club's financial strategy. The aim is to grow total income this season, with a specific target of boosting revenue from non-matchday sources. Director Bhavna Vohra is leading discussions with Somerset Council on a potential buy-back of Huish Park, with more news expected in the first quarter of 2027.
Prabhu Srinivasan addressed the club's spending philosophy directly.
Planned improvements include using Premier League funding and an owner contribution to upgrade fan zones with more seating, covered areas, and food vendors. The perimeter wall around the pitch will be replaced with mesh fencing after the season, and a grow light is being invested in for the pitch. The club also plans to turn a cabin near the ticket office into a coffee shop.
On the academy, Srinivasan confirmed the club is actively working to regain its Category 3 status, a process that involves significant investment in facilities and staffing. He also noted the club is exploring a partnership with a local university to enhance its sports science and medical provisions.
Recent form and next challenge
The engagement comes as Yeovil Town prepare for a key National League fixture. The Glovers sit 5th in the standings with 28 points from 16 games, following a 2-0 away defeat to FC Halifax Town last weekend. Their recent form across the last five matches shows two wins, one draw and two defeats. This run includes the 2-0 loss at FC Halifax Town on Saturday 31 October, a 2-1 victory at AFC Hornchurch on Tuesday 27 October, a 2-1 home defeat to Altrincham, a 5-2 home win over Leatherhead, and a 3-3 draw at Leatherhead. The team has scored 35 goals and conceded 20 this season.
Their next match is a significant home test against league leaders Boreham Wood on Saturday 14 November, a side they trail by 16 points in the title race. Manager Mark Cooper, who attended the event, will be hoping for a response from his squad. The owners expressed their full backing for Cooper and his long-term project. With the club targeting sustained growth on and off the pitch, the owners' event provided a direct line to supporters ahead of this key encounter at Huish Park.
