Yeovil Town produced a stunning display to demolish Boston United 6-0 at Huish Park on Saturday. The emphatic victory extends their unbeaten run to five matches and lifts them into fourth place in the National League table with 22 points from 12 games.
Ryan Jones opened the scoring in the 34th minute, cutting inside on a solo run before finishing calmly. Brett McGavin doubled the lead just three minutes later with a powerful strike from distance. James Daly made it three before the break, firing home powerfully in the 42nd minute after being set up by Jones.
Second-half control
Johl Powell added a fourth in first-half stoppage time, capitalising on a defensive error to slot past the keeper. After the interval, manager Billy Rowley made a triple change, introducing Zain Westbrooke, Charlie Lennon and Mason Obeng. The fresh legs maintained the pressure, with Obeng scoring the fifth in the 74th minute from a Stephen Walker cross. Powell completed his brace from the penalty spot two minutes later after Joe Gubbins was fouled in the box.
The defence, marshalled by Jack Kingdon and Hayden Muller, was rarely troubled as they secured a clean sheet. Goalkeeper Jos Barker was called into action to deny Terrell Agyemang from distance, but it was a comfortable afternoon for the Glovers. The win marks their biggest of the season and their best home performance, with the team now claiming a goal difference of +11.
Rowley's side, who named an unchanged starting eleven from their midweek draw with Worthing, were in control from the first whistle. They have now taken 11 points from their last five games, a run of form detailed on our standings page. The 3,140 fans in attendance, including 121 travelling supporters, witnessed a dominant performance.
They will travel with confidence, having scored 26 league goals this season.
