Yeovil Town have detailed a series of fan zone improvements and a financial strategy aimed at securing the club's future, following an open evening with supporters at Huish Park on Monday. Owner Prabhu Srinivasan and senior staff fielded questions and shared plans for stadium upgrades and revenue growth, with the club sitting fifth in the National League on 28 points after 16 games. Their recent form has been inconsistent, with three wins, two draws, and two losses in their last seven matches.

Srinivasan stressed the importance of financial prudence, telling attendees he hasn’t got "Bollywood money". The club is working to become financially sustainable, with a clear plan to grow total income. Currently, around 90 to 95 percent of the club's revenue comes from matchdays. The aim is to increase overall income, with an additional £250,000 expected this season from sources outside of matchdays, such as events, commercial activities, and better use of the stadium during the week.

Huish Park upgrades underway

A key focus is enhancing the supporter experience at Huish Park. The club has secured £50,000 in Premier League funding for fan zone improvements, with owner Prabhu Srinivasan contributing an additional 25 percent. Planned works include installing more seating and covered areas, large heated umbrellas, and bringing in more food vendors around the Main Stand. The perimeter wall around the pitch will be replaced with mesh fencing to improve visibility.

Other stadium projects are also in motion. The club is investing in a grow light for the pitch and will verti-drain the Wells pitch for an upcoming Somerset Men’s Premier Cup tie. There are also discussions about turning a cabin near the ticket office into a coffee shop for weekday lunches and refreshments. The club hopes to keep the Alec Stock Lounge and bars open after games to show football on big screens, a trial run after the Tamworth game saw only a handful of supporters stay.

Building a sustainable future

Longer-term ambitions include a potential buy-back of Huish Park, with Director Bhavna Vohra leading discussions with Somerset Council. The club hopes to hear more in the first quarter of 2027. Bringing parking arrangements under the club's control is another goal, alongside increasing community involvement through player visits to local schools and the hospital. The club is also considering arranging a supporters' visit to the first-team's training base at SGS in Bristol for a tour and open session.

Safety and matchday operations remain a priority, with the club meeting the police and Football Safety Group twice a week. The club's safety rating has improved recently, which could allow more away supporters into the fan zone before matches, though concerns were noted about incidents during Leatherhead's recent visit. Any new supporter areas must maintain emergency access and allow the stadium to be evacuated within five minutes.

Supporters were given a questionnaire to provide feedback on all improvements, with an online version to be made available following a suggestion from the Green Army WhatsApp group. A more formal event involving figures like Billy Rowley is planned for the new year.

These off-field developments come as the team prepares for a key home fixture against league leaders Boreham Wood on 14 November. Yeovil, currently 16 points behind the top side, will be looking to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat at FC Halifax Town in their last outing. The Glovers have scored an average of 1.6 goals per game this season, a rate they will need to maintain or improve to close the gap. The club's full fixtures list shows the importance of making Huish Park a fortress as they chase promotion. The planned fan zone upgrades and revenue drive are central to building a stable platform for that on-pitch ambition, with the next home game providing an immediate test for the matchday experience.
