Early lead

Yeovil Town secured their first win of the National League Premier Division season with a 3-0 triumph over Gateshead at Huish Park on Saturday 22 August. The Glovers opened the scoring less than two minutes in when striker Ste Walker coolly slotted past keeper Peter Jameson, putting Yeovil ahead 1-0. Walker’s finish was followed by a quick second goal from the same player in the 23rd minute, giving the hosts a 2-0 advantage before the break.

Second-half dominance

Captain Luke McCormick, who had been a midfield presence throughout the first half, produced a double in the second period. He latched onto a through ball from substitute Slavi Spasov and fired home with nine minutes left, making it 2-0. A minute later, McCormick finished off a move that saw Spasov arrive in midfield, sliding the ball past Jameson for a third goal.
